I passed the examination in the Prešov’ s MR Center. In this case, it was a brain examination to either confirm or exclude a brain tumor. Fortunately, this diagnosis wasn’t confirmed through MR examination. Can you imagine that...[more]
Magnetic resonance imaging is a diagnostic method used to produce two-dimensional and three-dimensional images of organs or structures inside the human body. The method used in health care since 1980, is a unique and increasingly popular for making high-quality images without the use of radiation (that is used in X-ray, CT or nuclear medicine). Technological breakthroughs and every-year improving ensure constant innovation even to image quality, which clarifies and accelerates the patient's diagnosis of the problem. Digitization is now a part of each sector and its implementation in the health service / radiology is called digital radiography or computer radiography. According to experts, magnetic resonance definitely refers to a top method of radio diagnostics.

Operations in Bratislava, Poprad and Prešov use technologies delivered by Siemens. The Centrer in Nové Zámky operates the device from company General Electric. All magnetic resonance operations are on the highest technological level available for the MR operation in Europe.
All MT tests are performed inside a large vault - a powerful magnet that produces a tunnel, opened on both sides. Detailed visualization provides the images in any centre of magnetic resonance.

Magnetic resonance imaging can be used to examine any part of the body. The examination is particularly suitable to the diagnostics of the following diseases: diseases of the brain, difficulties with spine, problems with joints, abdominal disorders, traumas, detection of tumors, inflammations ...

A medical specialist, physician- radiologist experienced in the magnetic resonance imaging examination evaluates and manages the obtained digital images. The physician describes the examination and sends the confirmed/ signed evaluation to another physician who had recommended the patient’s examination. The physician will then notify the patient on the determined diagnosis and the follow-up treatment process. New technologies allow for sending the evaluations and images through email. Radiologists provide consultancy of submitted diagnoses to physicians and patients too.
The application forms are available to any visitor to this website, but only a physician specialist (neurologist, orthopedic, traumatologist, doctor of physiatrics and therapeutic rehabilitation department, internist, gynecologist, surgeon, oncologist, pediatrician) can complete and submit it. This means that a local physician advises the patient to a specialist and if the specialist considers it necessary, he will fill in the request form for magnetic resonance imaging. Patient can choose a MRI center according to location which is more advantageous for him.
If the patient is a self-payer, i.e., if he does not require that MRI examinations are reimbursed by the insurance company, we recommend contacting the special MRI centre by phone or email at first. Self- payers are entitled to preferential treatment.
Current price lists are available at the reception desk of each MRI centre.
